The Website Goldmine

Published on September 26, 2025

Yesterday the Raccoon Web team swapped our desks for the buzz of the Technology for Marketing and eCommerce Expo at ExCeL London. And yes this year we even got the badges printed right ✅ (small wins đŸ„č).

The event was packed with insight, creativity, and a few reminders that the future of marketing and web is being shaped by community, authenticity, and influence. Here are some of the highlights we took away:

👉 Joe Jarred shared how Reddit has become a major source of data and inspiration for AI. With multiple viral posts under his belt (and features in outlets like The Mirror), it was a fascinating look at how online communities influence mainstream media.

👉 Joe Glover delivered one of the most engaging sessions of the day. No stuffy slide deck here — instead, he used doodles and storytelling to bring his points to life. A brilliant reminder that simplicity and authenticity connect best.

👉 Robyn Hartley spoke on the rising power of employee influence on social media. She highlighted how the role of social isn’t just “intern-level” anymore but a core driver for brand growth.

Events like this keep us sharp. They give us new perspectives, spark fresh ideas, and inspire us to push boundaries in the work we do for our clients. Next year, we’ll definitely be there for both days notebooks (and badges) ready.

Jargon, delays, or answers that don’t really answer your questions.

You get told what’s been done instead of being part of the process.
Red flag #7

Pretty visuals, but no clear journey, CTAs or measurable outcomes.
Red flag #8
After launch, did your agency basically disappear?
No support, no check-ins, no proactive suggestions.

Or had things break because something wasn’t renewed properly.
Red flag #10
Do you feel like your current site doesn’t really reflect your mission or who you are?
