We’re incredibly excited to share that the new Blanchette Soho website has been nominated for CSS Design Awards.
Designed and developed by Raccoon Web, the project brings the personality of one of Soho’s much-loved French restaurants into a playful and character-led digital experience.
The nomination recognises the website across UI Design, UX Design and Innovation, celebrating the creative direction, interaction design and overall experience of the site.
Bringing Blanchette’s personality online
From the beginning, the goal for the Blanchette Soho website was to create something that felt unmistakably like the restaurant itself.
Blanchette has a distinctive personality, balancing rustic French charm with the energy and creativity of Soho. Rather than producing a traditional restaurant website, we wanted the digital experience to feel expressive, memorable and full of character.
The website combines:
- Bespoke illustration
- Playful floral interactions
- Custom hover animations
- Editorial-style layouts
- Strong typography
- Story-led content
- Responsive interaction design
- A streamlined booking and dining experience
One of our favourite parts of the project is the Blanchette story page, which uses custom illustration and storytelling to give the brand even more personality beyond the restaurant itself.
Early recognition from CSS Design Awards
The website has already received strong early feedback within the CSS Design Awards judging process, particularly across UI Design, UX Design and Innovation.
Being recognised alongside other creative digital work from around the world is a huge achievement for the project and one we’re incredibly proud to share.
The nomination reflects what we love most about working with hospitality brands: creating digital experiences that go beyond simply displaying menus and opening times.
The website should feel like the first part of the experience.
